Rob worked as a Deputy Clerk in the Civil division of the Loudoun Circuit Court Clerk’s Office through law school, attending classes in the evening at the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law. Following law school, he was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kimberly A. Irving of the Prince William Circuit Court. Rob then joined a general practice firm in Leesburg, Virginia, focusing primarily on litigation before being hired as an Assistant County Attorney for Loudoun County. At the County Attorney’s Office, he advised County officials in the areas of government contracting, land use, real estate, code enforcement and taxation, and represented the County in related litigation.
Between private practice and government, Rob has helped a diverse set of clients navigate their legal issues in an array of settings and venues. He has represented clients before legislative, administrative and judicial bodies, including trial and appellate Courts, local commissions and boards, committees of the Virginia House of Delegates, the Virginia Department of Occupational Regulations (DPOR) and the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC). His transactional experience includes negotiating and drafting documents for matters involving employment, acquisition and disposition of real estate, and large-scale construction projects.
Rob serves as the appointed attorney for a number of localities in Virginia where he counsels staff and governing bodies in administrative and compliance matters, issues involving code enforcement, taxation and utilities, and the application of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and the Virginia Public Procurement Act.
Raised in Alexandria, Virginia, Rob now lives in Leesburg with his wife, son and dogs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, fly fishing and pretending to be a mechanic while restoring his classic truck. Rob serves as the Director of Operations and General Counsel for the Loudoun Rugby Football Club, for whom he still takes the pitch every now and then.
